Kailana Baker-Matsuoka was an app engineer for YokyWorks. After conducting research at MIT and CMU on neurodeveopment  challenges and machine learning algorithms, she implemented the first version of the app. She presented a paper on the impact of the app in one low-income community at the 2023 International Dyslexia Association Conference alongside YokyWorks education specialists. Every day Kailana works to create the opportunity for every child to learn to read.
