YokyWorks was founded in 2009 with the mission to “engineer the human experience” for everyone.  We built devices for children and adults whose everyday life could be enhanced with a little bit of help from technology. We built a communication tool, athletic assistance, and eating assistance. Since 2019, we have shifted our focus to help those with learning differences, especially those who have a hard time processing and reading letters.  

 

Our founder, Yoky Matsuoka, is dyslexic and she struggled for years to find the right solutions for her two children who are also dyslexic. Her son who received the intervention offered by YokyWorks in kindergarten caught up to grade level and surpassed it quickly.  Her son who received the same intervention much later caught up a lot slower and his daily hard work will continue. We are here to create a world where no parents need to struggle for years to find the right solutions, and to provide reading intervention to children in early childhood, before it becomes a significant barrier to their success.
