At YokyWorks, we are working to remove reading barriers and unlock the potential of every child. We are passionate about developing our students’ reading and spelling skills while improving their sense of self-efficacy and confidence. The work we do is grounded in building the foundation of literacy which starts with auditory perception, phonemic awareness, phoneme-letter mapping, and lexicons.  The YokyWorks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to designing and providing effective, research-based literacy instruction that fit the modern learners in the new hybrid learning environment.

Executive Director

The Opportunity

Our organization is looking for a committed, talented, and enthusiastic individual to lead and grow our organization and business.  This position is responsible for overall strategic leadership, fundraising, and operational oversight, and will carry out the vision, mission, and goals of the organization.  Our organization is at the cusp of an exciting growth, and the Executive Director will work directly with the President and the advisory board to help with business and marketing development and partnerships as well as organizational development and efficiency that enable us to remove the reading barriers from as many children in the world as possible.  The ideal candidate has excellent leadership and communication skills, is resilient, adaptable, and resourceful, and will find purpose in our mission of supporting children to develop the literacy skills necessary to be successful in school and beyond. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

  • >3 years of professional experience managing a team effectively

  • Ability to balance multiple demands in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to shift and pivot as needed

  • Discernment, excellent judgement, and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Proficient with Google Workspace

 

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in a non-profit organization

  • Proven history of successful fundraising, especially with a non-profit organization.

  • Proven history of establishing partnerships to serve services for their organization

  • Previous experience working with individuals with physical, learning, or neural diversity, including dyslexia, ADHD, 2E, etc.

The ideal candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule.  YokyWorks offers a benefits package and a salary that is commensurate with education and relevant work experience.

 

Other Information: 

This is a designated position requiring fingerprinting and a background check. YokyWorks reserves the right to make employment contingent upon successful completion of the background check.  In addition, all employees must complete an abuse prevention training prior to working in our organization.
